National campaign for occupational health and safety at microenterprises
For the first time, five national organisations that advocate a preventive approach to occupational health and safety are launching a joint campaign: the Federal Coordination Commission for Occupational Safety (FCOS), the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention (BFU), Suva, and Health Promotion Switzerland have jointly developed the new online platform.
The ‘Leadership Lab. Your commitment to health and safety benefits your business.’ campaign provides microenterprises in the service sector with expertise, and more besides, to promote preventive health and safety measures in the workplace.
The online portal offers
- a guide
- a self-test, so managers can learn what they are doing well already and what they can improve
- links to specific, carefully selected offers to help those concerned improve.
The prevention campaign is targeted at around 115,000 microenterprises in the service sector across Switzerland. These microenterprises typically have a simple structure, with one person taking on many management duties in most cases. One consequence of this heavy workload is a lack of sufficient expertise in terms of occupational health and safety.
The campaign is being promoted via a large-scale digital campaign, direct mailshots and a presence at trade fairs, as well as via internal channels at sponsor organisations and partners. The initiative will run until at least 2024.
